Our Research Resources
The NIH Library curates and provides access to a premier collection of resources to help NIH and HHS make biomedical discoveries and improve health. Dive into the links below to explore the extensive resources available to NIH staff:
- Journals: access over 20,000 online current and historical journals, most with complete archives
- eBooks: extend your research with our collection of over 190,000 scholarly eBooks
- Databases: search over 50 searchable reference databases including PubMed@NIH, Web of Science, Scopus, and UpToDate
NIH staff can access these online resources via the NIH Library website using the NIH VPN or through the NIH Library’s remote access service. Eligible HHS employees should connect through the remote access service.
Our Workspaces
Located in Building 10 near the south entrance, the NIH Library has an open reading room with comfortable chairs and natural light, access to computers, high-performance workstations, and a green terrace space (perfect for a meeting or lunch outside). And, if you are looking for a quiet space to study, the Library has private rooms for individual use. They are located downstairs and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservation required.
