AP Stylebook Now Available for NIH Staff

Calling all NIH communicators! The Associated Press (AP) Stylebook (online) is now available to all NIH staff when on the NIH network or VPN through a custom link. The AP Stylebook is a searchable writing and editing resource that is regularly updated and offers topical guides on a variety of subjects in health and science. Access is provided by the NIH Library.

Direct custom links to specific AP Stylebook entries have also been incorporated into the NIH Style Guide, which is intended for use in writing NIH web content, fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and other promotional materials. Learn more about the NIH Style Guide in this 25-minute webinar.

NIH follows the AP Stylebook for news releases and other media products. Note that this style guide is not intended for scientific publications, which typically follow the American Medical Association, the National Library of Medicine, and other styles by journal.

For more information about using the AP Stylebook, contact Lisa Scanlon, lisa.scanlon@nih.gov.
