MATLAB for Scientists: Working with Images & Videos

This session will provide a deeper dive into Image Processing workflows in MATLAB. The trainers will provide example code that you can adapt to your own work.  Bring your data or problem and we can discuss afterwards in “office hours.”

Topics to be covered in this session include:

  • Basic overview of the MATLAB environment
  • How to use MATLAB apps to quickly build powerful image processing workflows including:
    • Loading Image Data
    • Analyzing Image Data
    • Performing
    • Automating analyses across dozens to hundreds of images or video
    • Intro to deploying your own custom workflow into your own custom MATLAB app
  • Time permitting at the end we will touch briefly on more advanced concepts in Q&A such as:
    • working with video data (tracking zebrafish or cells in 2D)
    • 3D image processing
    • Machine or deep learning
    • Computer vision
