Session Description

This class is offered as part of the 2017 NIH Hour of Code Celebration. Please note, in-person seats are limited to 20 participants but webinar space is unlimited. If the class is on a waitlist, please consider signing up for the webinar option below.

R open source statistical software (link is external) can facilitate understanding data through an interactive and engaging process. In this workshop targeted to first-time and beginner R users, we will work directly with example datasets and perform data exploration to teach us basic aspects of our data. In the process, we will learn to load data, perform data summaries, basic statistics, and plotting. At the end of this session, the attendee will be familiar with interacting with R, finding help, loading tabular data, and basic data exploration and graphing.
Prerequisites: none

Laptops will be provided for in-person attendees, but if you'd like to follow along by webinar, please follow the installation instructions before the session.
