Supervisory Librarian
Karen Stakes began her federal career in 1973 as a clerk typist at the National Library of Medicine. Prior to joining the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Library in 2005, Karen worked at the Parklawn Health Library, HHS, in Rockville, MD for 32 years and was Director from 1998 to 2005.
As Lead Librarian at the NIH Library, Karen is a member of the Library’s Leadership Team and oversees the Information Desk services.
