Josh Duberman has been an Informationist/ Research Librarian at the NIH Library since May 2005. He has a Masters in Library Studies and a bachelor's degree in chemistry, with 18 years of information research experience at Applied Biosystems Inc. (ABI), SRI International, and as a consultant. Previously, he was a scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and at Chevron Research. He has several patents, and has written numerous articles for professional publications about the information industry, searching techniques and information resources.
His areas of expertise and research include intellectual property, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutics, engineering, competitive intelligence and technology transfer resources, and information retrieval issues.

He provides a variety of information management and research services including instruction (e.g., searching and bibliographic management tools), comprehensive literature searching, cited reference searches (e.g., times cited), and answering of reference questions.
He also supports the information needs of NIH staff involving chemistry, intellectual property, biotechnology, drug development, pharmacology, competitive analysis and commenrcial information subject areas.
He supports the information needs of NIH staff involved in technology transfer and assessment, including the NIH Office of Technology Transfer, NCI Technology Transfer Center, NIAID Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Office (TTIPO) , NHLBI Office of Technology Transfer and Development, NIDDK Office of Technology Transfer and Development, NHGRI Technology Transfer Office.
He also serves as a NIH Library point of contact for NIBIB and NCATS.
